Did anyone see Rachel Sylvester’s piece in The Times yesterday about Alistair Darling being his own man and how he’s starting to stand up to Gordon Brown? Well, on the same day The Telegraph ran a useful list of all seven of his major policy U-turns since he took office as Chancellor just over a year ago. What a remarkable strategy he has chosen to demonstrate his grip on the nation’s financial destiny.
